About The Yankee Classic
The Yankee Classic began in 1990 as a one day Amateur and Pro-Amateur event, and expanded to incorporate the Professional divisions in 1992. Championship status was granted by the NDCA in 1993. Since that time YCDC has grown to become one of the most prestigious and highly regarded events on the USA's calendar and we are proud to present some of the world's best dancers at our event, and to have been nominated as one of the three best events in the USA for the North American Dance Awards.
Once again, this year sees us returning to the pretty Boston Marriott- Cambridge Center, the perfect jumping-off spot to see the town.
2006 was an exciting DanceSport event...Where Old Friends Met and New Friendships were made...once again a new beginning for the YC...Yankee Classic welcomed aboard JOHN & CATHI NYEMCHEK Former United States Professional 10-Dance Champions as part of its organizational team!
The Marriott Plaza entrance offers a myriad of opportunites for sightseeing and dining. Immediately adjacent to the plaza is the entrance to the 'T' - Kendall Square Station for immediate subway access to downtown in 4 minutes.
The sightseeing 'Trolley Tours' board from across the plaza; take the Trolley and get off and on at will all day, and a fun commentary on Boston's history and sights - what a deal!
If you have dining in mind, try the justly famous Legal Seafood, just steps from the plaza entrance. Multiple restaurant choices abound - speak to the hotel Concierge for advice to suit your taste.
For that quick snack or lunch - there is a food court on the plaza and an 'Au on Pain' just one block away.
